Monday Again...

 I'm home! Love a sleep-in Monday.
No where to be, the day is all mine.
This Quilt is Bound.
It wasn't easy.
I didn't have enough fabric to cut the strips.
I came to the last corner and needed more.
What to do??
I had a strip cut to 1 1/2" and sewed another fabric to be folded inside, unseen mostly on the back.
Not a new trick. But it worked!
Can't tell from a distance.
So glad for inspiration to try something
I never did before.

I found a new favorite quilting pattern on my Q20.
It's called "Bramble"
A Song came in my head.
"The Battle of New Orleans"

They ran through the Briers and they ran through the Brambles.
They ran through the bushes where a Rabbit wouldn't go.
They ran so fast that the Hounds couldn't catch 'em.
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

Did you sing it?

The DWR is All Quilted with time to spare.
It just needs the binding.
I'm thinking nothing too different than the last border, I don't want it to scream, here, look at me.
I'm saving the big reveal for Quilt Guild.

From the back of the machine.
I kinda love it.
Done in a month of Stitching!
Now I can Make my Purple one...
But first, I have a few Christmas Quilts to finish.

Happy Monday!
Fair starts on Wednesday.
I didn't enter anything, I didn't think I'd be around to pick the entries up.
Places to be this next weekend.
We'll go see our Grandson's pig "Phillip"
on Free day until 3pm.

It's FriYay!

I get to stay home today!

Did you go outside last night?
This looked way better IRL

It's a Quilting downstairs day.
I have a deadline!
12 days until I need it done.
My weeks fill up quick.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays vary between Sew Days, Meetings, FHE and appointments.
Thursdays are for my Service at our
 Columbia River Temple.
I wish the ride wasn't so long.
Praying for a Temple to be built In Walla Walla.
I may never see it, I can hope!

This is where I'll be

I could go back to Tri-Cities tonight.
KD is celebrating at an Arcade with friends.
Driving at night doesn't sound fun.

Today is a double Birthday.
I have a 19 year old Grandson in Walla Walla
& a 1 Year Old Granddaughter in Missouri.
Wishing I was there.

Blogoversary still hasn't happened
Can't decide what to gift...
I haven't had any commenters for awhile so
I'm rethinking what I want to do.
I can see how many view my Blog.

Have a Happy  FriYay!

Wow-Wednesday

 I had a plan.
The Quilt on the frame got done.
That last border needed a different pattern.
I tried a new design that should have Nested better.
It looked good on the screen.
"Loopy Swirls"

This is the backing that wasn't quite big enough.
I have 2 maybe 3-4 more Christmas quilts.
Using up the flannel stash.

I got the Dwr loaded, then decided it needed a small border surrounding the dark Arcs.
It didn't take long.
Much better!

And as for my Monday stitching.
The Jolly Tree Farm SAL won.
Only a month late this year.
It's all printed.
I love all the Christmas fabrics.

I have a few in the Queue to bind.
Yep!
Trimming downtown, and cutting Binding today.
It's a Scrap day.
Need a layer cake for eddie Walker's new idea.

Monday-Early Christmas Sew Day

 It's a Christmas Sew Day.
                               What to sew?
                 Headed downtown to stitch.

Started in 2024.

Should I work on my Vintage Christmas?         Or play with another Chandelier quilt?
I haven't done the Fat Quarter Shop SAL.                          I could do that.
Come back and see what I end up with.
                   Happy Monday!

Wow-Wednesday

What a fun Tuesday!
It's been awhile since I took a class.
Diane taught us about
"Color, Contrast and Cohesion"
Her presentation lasted all day.
I sewed with some Red, White and Blue Scraps.
I chose the Windmill block to make.

There's a new Great Grandson coming.
Being born in 2026 he needs a Patriotic quilt.
So many ways to choose spreading the colors.
Red and Blue Swapping placement
Hard to decide which way I liked best.
I need one more block for that space.
It's a Start.

Today is a resting day.
I'll be back stitching arcs.
Just a few more to sew and trim.

I dropped Paul off at his Happy place.
He didn't turn around to pose.
The skies were clearer today.
3 young ones sitting, looking up at the Temple.

School started early in Walla Walla.
The roads were busy.

A Monday Trunk Show

I woke up early and drove over for the Tri-City Quilters Guild Meeting.
Today was a Trunk Show with
Stash Bandit; Diane Harris
Her 9 patch Jambalaya

Star Quars, she calls these block units.

I went early to get a picture with her.
I think we met in Portland at the Block Party
Quiltmaker sponsored.
So fun to have someone from Nebraska come.
I still have good memories of our time there.
In spite of Covid!

She's teaching a class tomorrow, there was a few spots left this morning.
I'll be there!
Gotta get some strips cut.

It's a FriYay

 I m a lucky quilter!
My Guild friend randomly drew my name.
I'm always excited for her prizes.

That reminds me I haven't done my Blogiverseary.
It will havecto wait until another day.

I get to go stitch with my Quilty Friends.
It's a Guild Sew-in Weekend.
I can sew Friday and Saturday.
You know I'm working mostly on the Sage Green Double Wedding Ring Quilt.
But I have a Challenge Quilt to Finish, too.
These blocks are the beginning.
Lots of Red White and Blue!
Eddie shared the bottom strip with me.

2 of her samples of random designs with parts and pieces left over from other projects.

Entries have to be in by September 1st for the
Quilt Festival.

Hope my Blogging friends are safe and Happy this Weekend!

Wow-Wednesday

Hurray for another Sew Day!
I decided to make some Blocks with 2 pieced arcs.
Just to see how many I can make.
2 short of 25.

I love that it gets easier and easier to put the
blocks together.
I will trim these before I go back down for our Quilt Guild Sew-in this weekend.

Eddie leaves to do another Tutorial with
Missouri Star Quilt Company this Sunday.
So excited to see what she does with the fun fabric they sent for her to use.
Her templates are the best!!

Monday Musings

 I had a busy week.
This is usually my Busiest week.
I'm trying to get some Blocks made.
I cut the 10" strips for the background.
Decisions, I like the Regular Arc blocks
I also like the fabric I found with bells on it.
Do I ise it for Cornerstones and solid arcs?
I need to choose quickly 😩

My New Scrappy Quiltville Book finally came.
Some of my favorites are included.

Clearing off a Flat space I found this ready to assemble  SAL
I didn't take long.
Might add more borders.

I put a Flannel Christmas backing on that was too short for my Chandelier Quilt.
Looking at my TBQ pile, I found this old Sal
From Fat Quarter Shop.
It fits.
I can get another Christmas quilt quilted this year.
Gotta look for another backing.

We took a drive-by our old house in Umatilla.
Kinda sad to see the lawn has dried up.

It's a GO Day at Powered by Fabric.
I will go for the morning.
Be home for lunch.
Too much to get ready for Guild tomorrow.

It's a FriYay

 FriYay again!
Here's my report.
Double Wedding Ring in progress.

I can sew today because it is smoky outside.

This Quilt needs a border.

And this one just needs a backing and to get
The Frosting! aka: Quilting.

But it might have to wait until another day.
It isn't one for the Quilt Festival.

I only get to choose 2 to Register.
And I have a few that have already been quilted.
Like this one.

And This one...

And I can't forget this one.
Hard to choose just 2!

Which would you choose?

Have a Happy FriYay!

Wow-Wednesday

I made as many Arcs as I could yesterday.
Count is 75.

I ran out of one of the fabrics.
It's one I only had a Fat Quarter of.
Checked at 3 Shops on the way home.
Found this fabric...
It has Bells on it.
It looks good with the Arcs.
I think I will use it for solid arcs.
That way I can start making blocks sooner.
I have about 5 weeks.

eddie found this cute tool box for me.
It's so nice of her.
She is thoughtful and kind!

Last night I was hungry for Chicken Chow Mein.
Grateful for my momma teaching me how.
Yummy stuff!

I got an MSQC Bundle.
There was a Chuck the duck in my box!
Must have been shopping under the influence. 😆

Does that happen to you?
Have a great Wednesday.

Crazy Mary Monday

It was a crazy morning.
I couldn't find my Templates to cut out the
Sage Green fabrics for Jeff & Cheyanne.
Quilt Buddy, Lynn called to ask if I was coming.
I found a bolt of creme Fabric for Background.
It was a Late start.
I got a few stitched, after doing some cutting.
Trying to decide if a pieced arc on both sides works.
That would make it more like Aunt Roma's.

I found my Red White and Blue Blocks
I'd left them inside my machine.
Decision to be made on those too.
Star & Crown or Big Star
Like Bonnie Hunter's Leader/Enders.

Need to sew more blue and red HSTs.

How was your Monday?
