Friday - Day 6 house bound - OMG Link-up

It's been a long,  long week!
Everyday, I have looked out, there is SNOW.
My 'Pollyanna' is tired...
I never got my February Ufo out
Judy L chose #4 for March.
Laughing cause It was quilted in January!
So my Replacement #4 is
Star Valley Stars
I took the Brown corners out and replaced them with Trees,  & Green border in the last week of February.
It was just what this Quilt needed!!
It just needs the final borders sewn on and a backing chosen.

(Thier link-up didn't change)

Even thought of taking a Snow picture for today, but just couldn't get the energy to take it.
Shoveling & Sweeping wipes me out.
I have to force myself out of bed to do it!
It's March,  I need Spring!

WOW-WEDNESDAY OMG - Tula Pink City Sampler

For May, my OMG will be my
Tula Pink City Sampler.
This is how it looked last time I took a picture of the Quilt.
Gnomeangel100blocks100 Days is having a Finish-a-long on Instagram.
There is a prize involved.
That gives me incentive.
I got an email saying that I Won a
$25 Gift certificate for Fat Quarter Shop.
It's a prize from linking my April OMG.
I'm excited to use it.
Thanks, Patty!!

WOW Wednesday - OMG DONE and Link-up

November 2016 was a BLUR in my Blogland.
I skipped a few posting days and pre-posted a few.
My OMG
"My Secret Garden"
pattern by Pat Sloan HERE

It is just a Flimsy but that was the GOAL!
Finished November 5th!
I got it done early because of my Busy, Busy Month.
I love it!  Shared it with my Guild.
The holders had it sideways, but it looked good that way too.

It's fun to have a Block of the Month that finishes before the end of the year!
What will Pat Sloan do for next year??
She had a poll on her facebook, maybe a Wall Hanging???

Onward to December tomorrow and the Countdown to Christmas!
Lots and lots of Secret Stitching will be happening!
My Sweet Sister helped this year by sharing her plastic canvas Snowflakes
for the annual Ornaments that I didn't get made this year for the grandchildren.
I had two fun helpers.

One family is delivered, the rest will be delivered this weekend, I hope!

Design Wall Monday and Mid Month report -June 20, 2016

The mid-week of June was a Blur.
I didn't get all of my Quilt Zone Time in as planned.
So far this month I have gotten some of my June goals completed though.
My OMG is back on the wall, front and center to think about whether I want to make the rest of the blocks to finish the whole design or just border and frame it so it gets DONE.
Big Questions on a Monday.
What would you do???

June Goals
1- Make Guild Lotto/ Charity Block -Done
2- Farm Girl Vintage  - take to Retreat and assemble the quilt.- Packing it up
3- Make Blocks for Family Reunion Quilt - coming up very soon.
4- Quilt Grand Illusion -Done
5- Catch up on 1930's Farmer's Wife - 5 of 21 Blocks Done

I did get to go and browse the "Love of Junk" on Saturday.
DD#2 and her Mother by Love came and took me with them.
We only had a couple hours and it was threatening Rain again.
The Big Barn was dry so that's where we started.
I felt  a little like Bonnie Hunter searching for quilts.
I first saw a bag with an "Ocean Waves" done in Pink and White
It looked like someone had taken it apart from the backing, the edges were very oddly cut.

I found this cute quilt and had DD hold it up.
Looked cute, but I didn't buy it.
I did buy some Vintage Cartoon Glasses, I got a deal on them. No Picture
This one jumped out at me.
Bobi & Janessa held it up for me to get a better look.
I got it home and looked closer,
It is a Big Stitch Quilt in a bag from China. insert frowny face...
Still cute and it will be a fun one for the grandchildren to choose from when they come and stay.
DD #2 took a picture of the other quilt I saw. I don't have it to share.
It was damp from being in the weather.
And it was YELLOW.
Janessa remarked, "Your favorite Color Mom"
Needless to say, it stayed there.

This is Guild Day in Tri-cities, I'll be going to the evening Meeting if it doesn't rain.
I hear the 2017 Raffle Quilt will be unveiled!
Tomorrow starts the Row by Row!
I will have a helper to take along to pick up the Local Rows.
Cleaning while I have Grandma time this week.
Gotta be ready for Summer company.

Two Quilt finishes makes up for that, right?
Betsy was being very good!!
I was on a roll had to keep quilting Friday.
Grand Illusion is Quilted
I used "Fandasia Daisy Fan"
The quilt was loaded sideways so the fans go Vertically.
I mirrored them every other row, the effect was interesting, wouldn't you agree?
DH says, it's time to do some Custom Quilts, make some $$$
I still have those 18 + to finish, plus all the ones he has no idea I have in my brain.

Friday Foibles

Foible -a minor weakness or failing of character; slight flaw or defect: an all-too-human foible

This word came to my mind when I set my NEW Feathered Star out to see how it would look
on my 'Design floor' last night.
It has a slight defect...
I seem to remember making this same error when I put the 1st Feathered Star together last month.

After a few minutes with my "froggin' tool.
There will be a BLOG post about my Favorite Froggin' tool in March.

This one is MUCH Better!
The WWSNV got some new fabric in that was Purple-y.
It's from a line called "Thyme with Friends"
(Link goes to a different site.)
I decided this one would be Perfect in a Spring-y Purple!
The Fussy-Cut Center is my Violets fabric.
That might change if they get in more of the line.

My OMG Goal is almost finished even with a few Foibles.

It's Friday and My Circa 2016 Center is not quite ready for viewing.
I didn't' choose the Setting square and Triangle fabrics yet.
The Hourglass units, in the correct size, still aren't made.
The new step is found HERE today.
I'll get to it tomorrow while DH is finishing his Irrigation Project.
No Basketball games this week.

My main human foible is that I just can't say no to a fun SAL.
Lori Holt put this fun one on Instagram last night.
I waited for the full reveal before cutting. Is that cheating???

I saw the cutest Cowl at the Lacey Lacers show and share.
That meant I had to find a FREE pattern and make me one, right???
On my Needles while watching Paw Patrol with my grandson, LOL.
I am about half way done.  I might have something to show next meeting- hahaha.
I haven't picked up my needles for a while.
Working on the Circular needles is different.
It took a bit to get in the groove.
Even longer to find my little markers for the beginning of the row.

There's a USED Book Sale down at the Marcus Whitman so the Quilting and Knitting will have to wait.
I heard there are a BUNCH of Quilting Books...

Wonderful Wednesday Sharing -OMG

My Allietare' is getting closer to a Flimsy.
It was my January Goal for OMG -One Monthly Goal
It's a hit at my house.
DH, Paul likes it alot.
Way out of my comfort zone as far as the color way.
I plan to add a grey inner border and a black final border with red or yellow 4-patch corner blocks.

My grandson helped me cut between the rows of blocks.
It's hard to web a Diagonally set quilt.
I hope to have the total flimsy by Monday February 1st/

My BIG TA -DA for today is my
2015 Vacation Time Block of the Month!!!

I took it to Tri-cities to my friend, Debbi T from Alder Avenue Quilting for the Quilting.
I just couldn't wait for "Betsy" to be in working order.
The Theme for the Spring "Trends" trade show in Portland at EE Schenck's is
"A Day at the Beach"
This quilt had to be entered there.

Debbi quilted it on her 'Innova'
There are beach balls all over it with suns, shells, starfish and lines to look like a beach ball.
The thread was a pretty verigated aqua color
a White Cotton Batting and Navy Shadow Play backing.
SO... I'm calling it "Let's Go to the Beach!"

Below are some close-ups of the quilting- just for my Blogging friends

Her charges are very affordable!
She fit my quilt into her busy schedule to make sure it was done in time for me to get the
binding, label and hanging sleeve sewn on.
My favorite part!

One Monthly Goal- link-up

I already made a list of goals.
That was before I saw the a Red Letter Quilts had a Link-up for OMG.
OMG stands for "One Monthly Goal"

If I choose just ONE of the goals I had on my list that would be a much KINDER goal for me.
So...my Choice is getting my Allietare' to Flimsy #1 goal on my list.

This is how it looks so far with about half of the blocks on my Wall.
I re-sewed the Setting Side Triangles.

These have been re-sorted and are ready to finish the stitching.

I need to cut and make more of the be-headed geese or Santa hats to make a few more of the Alternate Blocks.
The main goal for this is for it NOT to go in a Tote and become a UFO!

Remember that for fun I made part one of the Mystery? But I never did any more parts.
I could just make the Santa hats and just do the Alternate blocks for a fun Sewing stuff themed quilt.

I know I'm crazy!
I will still work on those BOW's and BOM's and try to keep up.
Choosing ONE Monthly "BIG" Goal will help keep me busy the rest of the month.

Class samples and Guild Blocks are being worked on, can't show just yet.
Watch for next Wednesday's Posting to see the Block I chose for February's Lotto.
