I spent the Day with my Guild friends at the Church where we hold our monthly meetings.
It was a National Quilts of Valor Week-end.
There were hopefully hundreds of quilters making quilt tops for the Military on Saturday.
The pattern we used is found

A Group was gathering at the quilt shop in Athena on Sunday too.
I made mine "Scrappy"!
When I was cutting up scraps at home I sorted out anything R,W B or Gold and cut 2.5" Squares.
This is the center, waiting for the borders at home.
I also used a few strips that Jessica, (our QOV leader that day) had cut in preparation for the day
with a Accuquilt Strip cutter at the LQS. See pic below.
2.5" strips and 5.5" squares for the star points.
The counters at the Church are a good height to use.

My blocks are in my hand and I'm wearing my Seahawks Superbowl Shirt.

Jessica walked around and took pictures to post on our FB page.
She caught me eating a cookie.
A few quilters left before they were finished and we took a group picture.
Here are 12 of the 16 quilts that we hope to donate as a Guild to QOV in March.
I traded spots so Jessica could be in a Group picture, too.
Her quilt is the first on the left, she is holding mine.
Here I am with all the rows webbed together.
I laid them out on the floor, flipped row 2 onto row 1 and picked them up to sew, row by row.
I tipped over when I went to gather the 3rd row and tumbled into Susan, the quilter sitting to my right.
Note to self - get down lower, don't bend over to pick up blocks.
She and her son made up kits for these STAR blocks.
It's a Fons and Porter Pattern, she said.
I made these 3 after I got my Quilt Center put together.
It was a fun day spent sewing with my Guild friends. Fun to hear all the machines humming away!
