The Big Reveals

 This is my Entry for the Crayon Adventure Challenge.

"Colors Go Round & Round"

Designed, Pieced and Quilted by Mary Crowther

Inspired by Eddie Walker's "Pickle Dish" class

This picture shows the quilting best.   I quilted it with my Bernina 150 on the Quilt Table.

My eldest Son and Daughter by Love saw it Saturday evening and laughed that 

I quilted LOL on the Border.

I had to wash it after I got home from the Ricky Tims Super Seminar.  

I found a spot of blood on the white border.

I chose my favorite Quilter's Shade Fabrics once again from my Hancock Fabric days.

and a bit of some St Jude Fabric and Kona White.

This is the name I put on the Registration for the Quilt Festival. 

 I thought of a better name after... "Crayon Rainbows"
Now that the show is over I see that the Judge for the Challenge left comments on my Quilt.
 I didn't expect that.
She said it was lumpy in places and puckered where I quilted small.
That's why I NEED that LongArm so bad!!!

WWV Quilt Festival- Day 2 (Picture overload...)

This is the National Featured Quilter- Barbara Shapel. I had one of the Festival ladies take our picture after I got her to sign a Siggy square for me.  I attended two of her Demos where she talked about Thread and Needles- so Informative! I am amazed at how she does her art on her Bernina. Watching her over the last two days, I had to get her Butterfly Stencil to "Try" and see if I can learn this technique.  I know my work will never compare to hers but it will be interesting to try.

This Owl looks so 'lifelike' as do her Cranes and Fish.  You have to look at both sides of her quilts.

These quilts were made by a small group of quilters. Same patterns different fabrics and borders.

These white Quilts are two of the 3 This talented Quilter entered. She quilts on an HQ 16. 

I can't caption them all. This isnt' even half of the 230 Quilts.  I just wanted to take pictures to share on the Blog. I volunteered at the front Welcome table again today.  One lady commented that our show rivaled one she saw in her area of California. 




Two above are from "Kissed Quilts".  I saw many entered that were quilted by Marlene.

 I hope you have enjoyed looking at the Quilts.  One more day then we take them all down and return them to their owners.  I hope to get there after Church in time to take pictures of the Ribbons on the Viewer's Choice Winners.

OOOO AHHHH Quilt Show time!

Today is the day the Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival begins.  The Theme is "LUCKY 13".  I am excited even more because I got to help set up and get a sneak peek of Barbara Shapel's Beautiful artwork!  Barbara is the National Featured Quilter this year. Her quilts are truly a work of ART.  Check them out.

Becky Martin, the Local Featured Quilter, has a few of her fun quilts on display.

I have 3 quilts in the Festival this year.  My Blue Christmas Lonestar, How Much is that Doggy and my Brrr Heart (Bargello).  I thought all of the Bargellos we made at the sew-in would be shown, but only saw mine. Lynn took this Picture of me by My Lone Star Quilt.







We had a fun time getting all the submitted quilts on display. There will be Pictures added after I go to the Show today, of course. Admission $5 one time, go back all week-end, and get a chance to win this PFAFF sewing machine.

The Vendors are all ready and waiting for us to come and see them.  I am posting just a few Quilts I took pictures of today.  My camera Card blinked on me and said the card was full so I had to go and print some pictures at Riteaid on my way home. To my Surprise they have totally re configured the store and changed stuff all around. They took out the Express Print-out Photo machine.  I'll have to go pick them up tomorrow.

 Our only Male Member of the Quilt Guild's Quilt.  All Hand appliqued and Hand quilted.  No one can beat him for Viewer's Choice.  This is his newest quilt.  Very Pretty- I love the purple.  I suggested to the Festival people that they add a "Hand quilted" Category  to the Viewers Choice ballot.

These are the Block Challenge Blocks that will all go to the Winner who made the Block with the most Votes.  Which one would you choose???

The next two were just ones I liked the design of.  I can't remember who the quilters are. I have many more pictures to take it is good I get to go back in the Morning.

This one has the points of the Center Mariner's Compass continued out in the Quilting.

This one is so cute and not your normal House quilt.  Jan mentioned that she loved the way they made the Tulip Border.  Can you choose your Viewers Favorite??  The Winners are Announced on Sunday. I won't know who won what until I get out of Church and go to pick my quilts up. The Categories are Large Quilt, Small Quilt, Lucky 13 Challenge, and the Block Challenge. Two of the Quilt shops in town sponsored a Special Award. I'll take pictures of those Winners tomorrow.

  The Demo that Barbara Shapel gave on Threads was very informative. It was fun to watch her quilt on her Bernina too.  She has her stencils and DVD's on sale. Tomorrow I'll get some pictures of her quilts and her.
