Blogger's Quilt Festival -May 2014- Scrappy Quilt

AmysCreativeSide.com

IT'S Time!!!
My Favorite Online Blogger's Quilt Show HERE

I thought and thought of which category to enter a quilt into and since meeting Bonnie Hunter last year,
I've gone totally SCRAPPY!

My Favorite Scrappy Quilt that is totally finished is:

"Parcheezi"
(picture shows Me and the Pattern designer at a Local Quilt show)

"Gameboard" Pattern by Eddie Walker
She was inspired by two books by Kaffe Fasset and Sarah Feilke

I cut the wedges from my Blue, Tan, Cream and Brown Scraps.
The 10 degree Ruler made it easy to cut all the pieces out.
After the second class I laid them out and I thought they looked like "butterflies".

The only fabric I bought was for the setting pieces that were cut with the bottom Template.
Eddie cut the 'templates' from an old hard cutting mat.
I worked on sewing the blocks together while I sat at the FAIR last Labor day.
Blocks stacked waiting to be trimmed and laid out.

All laid out on my Design floor.
My layout ready to sew together.
I added borders and quilted the swirls on it with my Viking 18-8
Finished 2-12-14
Size: 68" x 67"
I quilted the swirls because you have to spin the wheel before you move on a Parcheezi game.

I hope you like my Quilt and will consider it for a Nomination in the Scrappy Category.

Blob-O-Borders

What happens when the sun comes out?  Well, even though it was cold,
I was happy for a SUNNY Day.
I  wanted to hang my 3 most recent Finished Flimsies out and take some good pictures to post.
So TADA!!! count them
#1 - Nabby's Dowry
 #2 Parcheezi
#3 SBS Sarah's Choice Christmas Star Swap- 2009

I know I could have done something more than straight borders,
but I'm happy to put these into the TBQ (To Be Quilted) pile.
I know they have to stay as they are- just a bunch of Tops waiting to be quilted SOMEDAY!

So that makes 3 quilts- that got sewn together and are ready for the Final Borders.

I'm not beating myself up about those other 3 quilts that didn't get to FLIMSY.
I will find a DAY at Thread and Bolts to use the BIG cutting table for squaring the quilts ready for borders.

I had 2 NewFO's
one quilted,  one ready to quilt
"Faithful" and "Purple Pumpkin Seeds"

AND I kept up with my Loyal Union Sampler Block of the Week, too.
TOTAL= 13 Blue and White Blocks- only 108 left to make
Almost all of the 35 LUS- ALOHA blocks Finished- 3 LEFT to make.

My NOVEMBER Goals are:
 1- Borders on Midnight Flight
2- Make Pieced Sashings for ALOHA LUS
3- Block of the Week - Loyal Union Sampler

I can use the sashing pieces as Leader/Enders for the Midnight Flight Border units.

2- 3 more Midnight Flight Blocks, sew to Flimsy

I have Quilt guild next week and could possibly have the Flimsy tops to show.  I know that I should only show my "FINISHES".  My Sew n Vac friend told me that. I might forget if I've shown them so IF I get them to flimsy I might show them now. I'm saving the Star and Crown to 'reveal' at the Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival.
