Beautiful - EASTER Day

EASTER- 2012

It was a beautiful Day made even better with Family.  We had a great Easter Sacrament meeting with great talks about the Savior and how grateful we should all be for the "At-one-ment".  A reminder of the origin of the word brings more meaning to it.  I love the Songs of EASTER,  I was able to actually get out all the "Alleluias" without squeaking.  I heard my mother singing in my ear.  It was the 32nd Anniversary of my Father's passing picking grapefruit in Arizona.  I wasn''t saddened today- I have a peace that I will see him and my Mother again because of Jesus' Resurrection.  I had to take some pictures of the Beauty outside today- Even finding a Worm is a good thing to me- that means Spring!  Actually his big sister found the worm, we talked him into holding it... see how excited he is?

 Andy and NaDell's girls "posing" for Grandma in their Easter Dresses.  Abigail is wearing the one I bought for Elizabeth's 1st Easter, Olivia is wearing the Dress Elizabeth wore when Vincent was Blessed (just remembering, NaDell).  We were waiting for the rest of the guests to arrive for our Easter dinner.

4 Ransoms

 A family 'tradition' remembered almost too late- Olives on the fingers.  Colby shared some of his.  Abigail below ate hers before I could catch her with it on her finger.  She thinks Grandma is silly to put it on her finger.  Food is for eating- not for playing...her mom says.

We missed having everyone but as you could see the house was full.   The Paul & Mary Crowther family is scattered this year from Washington to Idaho to Colorado to Ohio and Cuba.

What Season is this???

To look outside this week, I never knew what I would see.  One day it looked like this- looking out towards the Blue Mountains...

One day we had some sun but then it HAILED as I went to send the be-lated Birthday gifts to Idaho and Colorado.  I had to tell DD #2 "I went through 'hail' to send this package."  LOL
The pictures of those will have to wait until Design Wall Monday- after they are delivered.

We said goodbye to Elder Monson this week.  He and his companion, Elder Floyd came to get a picture.
This morning when I woke up it wasn't doing anything- about an hour later there was a layer of snow.  But it melted almost as soon as it fell- no picture of that. Then there was a clatter on  the windows and I had to go and look outside again.  It was a wintry mix of rain hail and sleet.

 My poor Rhodedenron and Hyacyinths are so confused...

So, I've been busy cutting and sewing more Farmer's wife blocks for MAY.  I made my SBS BOW.

E-3 Chicago Pavements

 I also made a few more 3.5" Bow ties for the Bonnie Hunter Challenge.  I have put them in sets of 10 to make it easier to count.  I have 123 made right now.  It's time to cut some more to be ready for Leader/Enders.  Saturday is a 'get ready for Easter' day, so I'll be busy making rolls and cleaning for family.

Happy Easter!! - I'm so Grateful that our Elder Brother, Jesus Christ set the perfect example for us and knows our sorrows. And for His Resurrection that gives us all the promise of Eternal Life.

2011 Easter Sunday

Easter Message from President Monson and MOM/Grandma. If you haven't viewed this please take a moment today to do it. I've had the song that is my Dear husband's favorite Hymn playing in my head since I heard it sung on Friday evening by Carrie Underwood.How Great Thou Art. This morning I heard her sing it again and I sang it with her as I got ready for Church this Easter Sunday. Nobody was home so only I could hear the angels in heaven joining me. I have to tell the REST of the story like Paul Harvey used to do. When I was around 13 my Parents took me to Pocatello. We stayed with my mother's Uncle Theron and Aunt Alice. Uncle Theron is Grandma Mary Waite's Brother. The only surviving Triplet born to Harriet Louisa Call Mann. She was the second wife of William Charles Mann. His wife Alice we called "Aunt Allie" is where the recipe for the Hamburger Cassarole you all love so much came from, just FYI. I believe this was when I first heard a Player Piano and also the first time I hear Uncle Theron sing "How Great Thou Art". I wish I could play it for all to hear. I do have a recording on 'reel to reel' tape. I'm so glad I got to hear his beautiful Tenor/baritone voice belt out the words in person. I still get goosebumps when I hear a man sing it well. My mother loved to sing and she sings in my ear on days like today. When you see me cry when a hymn is sung, it's usually because she's singing in my ear one of the hymns we used to sing in Moses Lake 2nd Ward. How Great thou Art wasn't in the Hymn book when my mother was alive. Neither was "I Believe in Christ". She would have loved to lead the congregation in those Hymns. Her Uncle Theron died the year she did and someone said he called her to sing with him in the Heavenly Choir. They needed another Soprano. I want all my Grandchildren to know that I Believe in Christ! Easter is the day we celebrate his rising from the tomb. I'm happy to know why the tomb is empty on Easter Morning. Because He lives and He loves us all. So much he died for our sins and sorrows. He died to fullfill all righteousness and to be OBEDIENT to His Father. May we all be OBEDIENT and remember the things we are taught so we can truly follow Jesus Christ. He is our Example and asks us daily to "Come Follow Me".

Easter Feast

Today was our Ward's Easter dinner. The Ward Council planned it while Paul and I were visiting grandchildren. The Young Women decorated with pretty Spring flowers. Yummy stuff was eaten and there was beautiful music too. The Primary Children sang. Here are the cupcakes our table decorated. The Young men passed them around with frosting and sprinkles. At my table I heard someone say "We sure have a lot of good cooks in our Ward". Thanks to all who made it such a success. Since we no longer have an Activities Committee. We just signed up for what we wanted to bring. It was also Elder Keeler's Birthday. His days here in Walla Walla are numbered. He will be missed. I know his family, especially his twin brother will be happy to be together. Feliz Cupleanos, Elder Keeler... 'Preacher' Paul, my Dear Hubby, Bishop, and Father of our Ward said a few words to remind us of why we have Easter. Sorry his picture is blurry. Remembering the "Passover" and last days of Christ time on Earth. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have that he rose on the third day and we can worship a Living Christ. He Lives and because He lives, I have hope to see all those I loved who are no longer with us in Heaven. A place of "peace and rest" as the song my family sang once in Moses Lake 2nd Ward.
