My last few days have not been my own.
It's good that I played with these blocks earlier in the week.
I cut a bunch of scraps up for making these cute "Idaho Square Dance" Blocks that were in the
May/June Quiltmaker Magazine.
I couldn't help but sew a few together. Before long there were 10 or so in the works.
Scrapalicious!

Being a Wife and Grandma takes time away from my Stitching
I had a young Grandson/ helper here all day Thursday again.
Playing games, watching Frozen, eating M & M's, Mac & Cheese and walking to pick up his brother after school while his mom worked filled my day.
Designing more quilts continues in my mind and on my scratchpad as I lay down to sleep.
I have a Challenge/Swap to dream up!

Meanwhile the plans for Lori Holt's Instagram SAL starts one week from today.
I brought some of Lori's fabric and the "Alphabitties"
I think I'm ready!
Lori posted a bunch of cute #farmgirlvintage Blocks on Instagram and I pre-ordered the book.
My cousin is one of her fellow Retreaters who got a sneek peek.
The Canning Jar quilt and Lambs are calling to me this Springtime.
The directions are for 6" and 12" blocks, FUN!

His boss says he needs to take 1 day/week off & use some of his Vacation time before years end.
I finished reading this Sandra Dallas Book this week.
It was written last year- from a young Japanese girls' point of view.
Last Saturday I helped sell some of our Quilt Guild Raffle Tickets-
It was Bike race week-end in downtown Walla Walla.
Thanks to Walla Walla Sew and Vac & Spas for hanging the quilt in their window.
They have tickets there to sell if you are in town.

ReplyDeleteAlways SO much going on in your world.
ReplyDeleteI am a righty--looks like a fun giveaway! Thanks, Mary!
I'm a righty, but, I had left hand tendencies growing up, and can use my left hand for lots of things. Thanks for the chance. I know someone else that is in Walla Walla, and is a quilter. Her name is Sally, and she collects and uses vintage sewing machines (like me). Small world.
ReplyDeleteLefty here, but I cut with either really.

Beautiful raffle quilt! If I lived there, I'd buy 5. =) I love the Idaho scrappy blocks. I may have to make some! And I'm right handed and would love to win a PURPLE splash - no, you can never have too much purple, or too many rotary cutters. =) dezertsuz at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteLovely raffle quilt.
ReplyDeleteAnd nope, never such a thing as too much purple. =) I'd love to win the purple cutter.
As for me I'm ambidextrous for most things - except for when it comes to using scissors or rotary cutters....and there I am a rightie. =)
What a great post! I love your raffle quilt. I am a righty and you know I'm crazy about purple. I'm seriously thinking about the Lori Holt SAL. The blocks are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm a righty. Enjoyed reading your post. I get so tongue tied when I write mine.
