Guild Block Lotto- A Record Number won!!

I am pretty sure that 20 is the most Lotto Blocks we have had in a very long time!!!

 Congrats to Mary J, the lucky winner!

For May this is the Block I made to teach more accuracy for HST's and using neutrals.

everyone who took a pattern got to choose a Red or Orange 4" square and 

one square of the Ladybug fabric.  They can use any other colors to go with it and use 

Scrappy Neutrals for the Light side.

I told them they choose WHERE to use the Ladybug Fabric- in an HST or as a square.

It will be fun to see how many we get in MAY.

I got my QOV quilt Off the Table today -just in time to trim it and show it off at Guild.

a Month Late but - almost Done!!!

Now to print out a Label and stitch on a binding.

Hmmmmm, which quilt will go on next??? 

Design Wall/Floor Monday April 7,2014

 Bonnie Hunter had a giveaway of her New Book and the latest QM Magazine this past week.

Deonn Stott and Quilty Pleasures  are giving away the magazine some Riley Blake Fat Q's, 

the Ruler to make the Lamb Quilt and a CD of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

I would be Happy to win any one of these Giveaways even though 

I already have the book and the Magazine. 

The magazine got me thinking of Spring and Lambs and such...

This Cute Lamb quilt will be added to my New Fo's after July, (since I only posted NewFO's until July)

Brant & Tina went to visit in Tri-Cities the day before they went home.

I sewed all day while they were gone.

My 2 Block of the Month quilts were on my AGENDA!

The E- Block is Eight Hands Around

J- Block is called Janet's Lamb

When I first saw the quilt I wondered why the "J" was a Lamb!???

I thought Jumping Lamb...J- for Jesus, the Lamb of God with the Sun being the "Son of God".

All these things made me think of Easter and Christ's Resurrection.

I think the Lamb is a great representation for the J this month.

A Week of BUSY, Family, FUN!

I was enjoying having the kids here and didn't take time to post each day.  I took a LOT of snapshots in my mind too.  Spring Break was 2 weeks long for me this year.  First the week with the Goodson's from Colorado in town and then almost a week with the family from Wyoming!

This collage shows our Hike on Saturday and the pics I took of them on Sunday.

Grandpa Paul took a rare "Day Off" and we enjoyed having him along.

He jumped into the family Picture too.

 After the Hike Tina and I went to the General Women's Meeting.

Tissues needed next time. The music and speakers were great and touched our hearts.

The owl didn't let me get a good picture, it kept flying off the trees.

It was fun and now we have General Conference week-end to enjoy!

NewFO for April-Red & White Quilt Challenge - Phase 3

 The 3rd phase of the Red and White Quilts Challenge is starting over HERE. 

The RED & White Quilt has a deadline of September 30th.

I have to insert this one into my NewFO list so it can get started this month.
This is my Design that was selected to be used for this challenge.
I designed it in EQ7.
My goal is to complete the center block in April.

I didn't work on my March NewFo which was an Ocean Wave quilt.
Here's a sample of what it might look like, only mine will be SCRAPPY!

I showed all the previous 2014 NewFO's I continued to work on HERE.

The Block of the week was posted early so I got it done and added it to the  EQ7 chart.

I changed the extra Massachusetts in there too. I like the darker version.

Finally Friday- BOW done

My friend Wendy came home to visit this week.

They have had 80" of Snow in Chicago where she lives now.

She was in dire need of SPRING!

 Of course we had to go out for lunch at the Maple Counter.  My daughter, Janessa came with us.

We split a "Cowboy Burger" and Waffle Fries. 

It was YUMMY!!!

My Block of the Week for my LUS was the B-9 Combination Star (R)

I made a G-4 Massachusetts (L) block this week while I was stitching.
When I went to add it to my EQ7 Diagram in the sidebar I noticed I already had made it.
Oh well, now I have a choice of blocks to use if I need the shades of blue moved around.

I bought this fabric at the Quilt Show to use in my LUS.

It's made by Bird Brain Designs.

It was fun to fussy-cut the berries out for my BOW.

It's almost the end of the month and I having even worked on the NewFO this month.
It was suppose to be my "Ocean Wave" Quilt this month.

I'll have to make a Month End report with my Design Wall Monday.

I'm excited to see the Wyoming Family later tonight.  

I've been cleaning the guest rooms like crazy.

Some of the Christmas stuff still needed to be put away.  I had just stashed it in the toy room.

Quilty Fun - Almost DONE!!!

Monday the Bee Block was shown over HERE   Lori Holt's Blog is HERE.

There is even a pattern to embellish the Bee block on the PDF HERE.
 I have it drawn on, ready to stitch it before I sew the Center section all together.

We've spent some time playing with Grandchildren this week and enjoying having the 

Colorado family, (except for the dad) here to visit.

She spent the day visiting with 3 of her friends in Tri-Cities too.

We met up for Dinner at Joe and Kori's home. 

Jacob loves to hold his Cousin!

 He and the cousins had fun playing outside riding bikes and scooters and Jumping on the Trampoline.

We had delicious Pork Tacos!  Kori  shared the secret to the recipe- Root Beer and Brown Sugar.
I made "Jigglers" and Grandpa made some 'Colby -safe' Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Christen brought yummy Blueberry Cobbler.

  I took this Picture on Sunday of the Almost 3 year old in his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle gear.
Spring Break means Grandchildren come to Play at Grandma's!!!

Design Wall Monday March 24, 2014

 I knew my week-end was going to be CRAZY so I worked on these Blocks of the Month for my

 A-Z for EWE and Me quilt.

They are fun and I am enjoying making them. 

March Blocks before I added the Applique Letters.

H- House and I- Irish Chain

I fussy cut the Door and red squares to make them go up and down in the way I wanted them.

I using scraps for the BOM Blocks and I found the Background for the Letters,

 Black fabric for the Letters and sashing at Thread and Bolts. 

It looks like confetti or fabric scraps thrown in the air.

January, February and March Blocks ready to add the applique.

I found my fusible and just needed an evening at home to play.

The task of putting the letters on turned out to be a reminder of the reason's why you ALWAYS use a Pressing sheet when Fusibles are involved.

The lower right Block in this picture is wet from the trying to get black fusible residue off when 

I pressed without the pressing sheet.

3 Months are now DONE (except for the stitching).

I am debating on doing a blanket stitch by hand...

I have to ask- What would you do? My Blog Visitors????

I learned to make an 'origami box' on Saturday at the Quilt show.

Sunday was spent going to Church in Dayton to listen to my DH speak in Church.

 I enjoyed a Long Sunday NAP.

In the evening there was a fun gathering at my DD#2's in-laws home for a Special little almost 3 yr old.

Tri-city Quilt Show-

Friday I went to see where my quilts were hung and found Eddie Walker so 

I could get a Picture of her with my quilt and me.

These are the other two that I entered.

I had to look all over to find where they HID my Star & Crown.  

It was hung in a place where the quilting couldn't be seen.  

BUMMER, since it is the one I paid the most $$$ to have quilted.

My Easy, Busy Street 

My Bonnie Hunter Quilt wasn't the only one there.

Mary Shoop had 3 of Bonnie's Mystery quilts on display.

She was at the Block Party in Portland with me and Bonnie last year.

She took more than one class with Bonnie!

I took a LOT of pictures at the Quilt show. Over  100 so I made a Video/slideshow (I can't get it to upload)

Christine Barnes was the Featured Quilter.  I got her to sign a Siggy Square and had this picture taken with her.  Her quilts and vests are a fun play with "COLOR".  I bought a pattern and want to try a Vest.

 The Best of Show was a two-sided quilt done with the Quilt-as-you-go method.

It was stunning, I know the ladies I went with on Friday both voted for it as the Best of Show.

I gave them both a Spool Pin Doily.

 This one is Older than the Featherweight machine.
